Gordian is creating the first high-throughput in vivo screening platform, to extend the reach of gene therapy to complex diseases of aging.
Age-related diseases have complex etiologies that depend on interactions with the aged environment, and traditional screening methods have failed to produce effective treatments. By screening for efficacy within the most relevant animal models, our platform will identify effective therapeutics before the biology of each disease has been thoroughly mapped.
Moreover, our screening is designed to generate vast datasets with every run, even while we directly identify candidates. This integrates with our data analysis pipeline to map out the underlying biology causing disease, and even the fundamental processes of aging itself.

As our gene therapy lead, your early objectives include successfully replicating and optimizing viral delivery to disease tissues, end to end. This work will be very hands-on, and depend on your technical skill. By six months, you will have established the laboratory, mouse and virus infrastructure needed to carry out these experiments, and have tested a range of delivery methods in multiple tissues and cell types.
Longer term, you will continue to plan and manage delivery optimization to multiple tissues, in multiple species. You will formulate strategies for delivery and manage production, with an eye to clinical applications. This includes coordinating in- and outsourced work. You will continuously evaluate every aspect of our experiments.
You should have the experience to accomplish these tasks. Experience with delivery to multiple tissues and species, and end-to-end animal handling, are strong advantages. Experience with designing viral vectors, (pre-)clinical development in industry, and/or scaling production is a plus.
